Athena’s Anne Marie Towle Featured in Private Wealth
In the March 2016 issue of Private Wealth magazine, Athena Capital Advisors’ Managing Partner of Private Client Services and Wealth Strategies, Anne Marie Towle, was featured in a story titled, “Showing your Charitable Side”.
The article explored the growing interest in philanthropy among the next generation of wealth in the U.S., particularly among high-net-worth clients, which is the largest segment of households that donate to charities, according to the National Philanthropic Trust.
“For the client that is doing regular, annual charitable giving, we will have a conversation with them as to how much they want to give and the organizations they want to give to,” Towle told Associate Editor Chris Robbins. “We will give advice as to whether we should be giving cash or securities. We also speak with tax accountants to see what type of asset would be most advantageous from a tax deduction standpoint.”
Anne Marie Towle is an experienced estate planning attorney and trustee, who advises Athena clients on the use of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning to preserve and maximize wealth. She acts as a liaison with clients’ other outside advisors with respect to the development, implementation and ongoing oversight of sophisticated estate planning and charitable giving vehicles.
