The global economy has experienced an unprecedented downturn, spurred by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent U.S. economic data suggest troubling expectations; however, the stock market had surged since its March downturn. Doug Cohen, managing director, portfolio management, shares his insights on why investors may be skeptical of the recent rally. In talking with Reuters, Doug notes that “the market has shown an ability to look through the economic data. I think it will continue to do that for the April data.”
