Dana O'Brien, JD
Vice President, Deputy General Counsel; Chief Compliance Officer
As Athena's Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Dana oversees all aspects of firm and client legal matters as well as manages the regulatory compliance team. Dana is responsible for formulating and implementing all compliance policies and procedure and addresses all firm compliance issues. Dana also works closely with the client and research teams to conduct due diligence and perform comprehensive legal reviews on all alternative investments, and also chairs Athena’s Operational Risk Committee.
Dana came to Athena from Fisher Lynch Capital LLC, where she was Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Administration and Legal Affairs. Prior to that, Dana was the Director of Operations and Legal Affairs at MPM Capital LLC. Dana started her career as an associate at the law firms of Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP and Proskauer Rose LLP. At Proskauer, Dana was a member of the Private Investment Funds Group, and was responsible for reviewing and negotiating private fund investments on behalf of institutional investors and advising on the fund formation and capital raising processes.

- While in law school, Dana served as the Assistant Managing Editor of the Connecticut Law Review and was President of the Women Law Students’ Association
