Douglas M. Cohen
Managing Director, Portfolio Management
Doug is a senior member of the Portfolio Management Team and is responsible for delivering investment advisory services including asset allocation, portfolio construction and other portfolio management-related services. In addition, Doug oversees the firm’s New York office.
Prior to joining Athena, Doug co-founded Eachwin Capital in New York. During his time at Eachwin Capital, he was a Portfolio Manager and co-head of the Investment Committee. Doug was responsible for all aspects of portfolio construction and risk management, including investment strategy and macro positioning. Prior to Eachwin, Doug was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. He led the Strategic Equity Portfolio (STEP) program, which provided the intellectual underpinning and stock selection for a group of portfolios with over $12 billion in assets targeted to high net worth investors and family offices. Doug joined Morgan Stanley & Co. in 1994 as an equity analyst in the global electricity sector and later became a specialist in metals and mining. He led the STEP program from 2002 through 2011. Doug served on Morgan Stanley's Equity Research Stock Selection Committee. He also served on the firm's New Products Committee and was Chairman of the Asset Classification Committee. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Doug was a Vice President at Kaiser Associates, a strategy consulting firm.
