John H. Tyler
Managing Director, Foundations and Endowments
John brings to Athena over 30 years of experience in global capital markets and in advising non-profit institutions on their investment portfolios and governance. John’s clients have included private foundations, endowments of educational, research, cultural and health care institutions, and multi-national corporations. He oversees Athena’s outreach to the non-profit sector, and advises on governance, asset allocation and strategy implementation.
Prior to joining Athena, John was Director of Investor Relations at BCRE Partners, advising institutional investors. Prior to BCRE, John spent 11 years at Cambridge Associates LLC where he was a Managing Director and advised a range of private endowments and foundations on investment portfolios, with particular emphasis on governance, asset allocation and implementation of investment strategies. Before Cambridge, John worked in a number of senior credit and relationship management roles at State Street Bank and Trust Company, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bank of New England and Bank of Boston.
