Anne Marie Towle Provides Commentary on Proposed Tax Changes to Private Asset Management
Athena Capital Advisors’ Anne Marie Towle explained how proposed changes to U.S. tax policy may impact family offices and UHNW clients in a recent article published in Private Asset Management.
The article, “Awash with uncertainty, advisers scramble to prepare for potential tax overhaul,” was published on March 3. In it, reporter Katherine Goh explored how various advisers are preparing – or not preparing – for the potential changes and highlighted the challenges faced by both clients and their advisers. Towle highlighted the overwhelming uncertainty surrounding the proposals, even among those in politics. Additionally, Towle noted that proposals to overhaul aspects of the tax code are often proposed by new administrations.
Given the uncertainty over the specifics around the anticipated tax reform, Towle commented: “It’s difficult to say [which proposals will pass] even at this point, as within the Republican Party there are vastly different views.”
